Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a photo already taken?

No, and that is intentional. A file already present can come from anywhere. A VERiXiS proof is born at capture, or it does not exist.

How is this different from classic timestamping?

Timestamping establishes that a file existed at a date. It says nothing about the reality of the scene. We attest the capture itself, and we refuse what is doubtful.

Does this replace a court bailiff?

No. A qualified eIDAS timestamp (EU Regulation No 910/2014, Art. 41) enjoys a presumption of accuracy of the date and time and of the integrity of the data. An electronic document has the same evidential value as a paper document when the author can be duly identified and integrity is guaranteed (French Civil Code, Art. 1366); evidence may be provided by any means (Art. 1358). VERiXiS produces a sealed technical proof, not an authentic deed. For a single high-stakes dispute, a judicial officer’s report remains appropriate. VERiXiS covers the daily flow of observations.

What value in a dispute?

The seal and qualified timestamping strengthen the evidential weight of your exhibits under eIDAS. As with any evidence, appreciation rests with the judge.

Where is my data hosted?

In the European Union, under GDPR-framed processing: minimisation, restricted access, 6-year proof retention (deletion available at any time).
